Training Practiceconsultation

Helston Medical Centre is an authorised training practice and we normally have a GP Registrar as part of our clinical team. This means that a doctor in training might be present during the consultation you have with your doctor. You will be asked for your permission if this is the case.

The practice will also at times have medical undergraduates from the Peninsula Medical School in attendance who are gaining experience in general practice. By allowing them to be present when you visit your doctor you will help them to understand a broad range of everyday health needs.

It is now also routine for both our Registrar and the GP Partners to video surgeries for teaching purposes, as an on going appraisal of their clinical skills.  Also, you may be asked to see a doctor in a joint consultation with another partner for the same reason. These sessions still remain strictly confidential.

We hope that you will be happy to attend these surgeries, but if not, please say so as this is NOT obligatory. We always ask for your signed consent before and after any video consultation.
