Repeat Prescriptions


Please allow 5 working days, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.

For any prescription queries, please press 1 to speak to a member of the Prescription Clerk team between the hours of 10-1 and 2-4. 

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:

NHS App - simply download to your mobile phone, register via the App and you will be able to request medication directly from your own list of medication - the system in integrated with our clinical system and has improved saved features.  Further information about this can be found by clicking the link here Information about the NHS App

SystmOnline - Register for our online services at the surgery. You will need to show ID, unless you have previously registered for online services. 

By Hand – drop your repeat slip in at reception with the required items clearly marked.

By Post – send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.

We are happy to send your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice in the Helston area. Please indicate on your counterfoil which chemist you prefer - please allow an extra couple of days for the pharmacy to receive and dispense the items.

By email - if you are requesting a prescription on behalf of someone else who is currently self isolating or shielding or cannot access the NHS App you can email

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.

Registering for the NHS App - Step by step guide

Find the app by searching for NHS app It is BLUE NHS in a white rectangle sat in a blue square

Put in email address

Create a password

They send you an email and you confirm it.

Go back to the app and choose continue

Confirm your telephone number

It sends a text with a code and you enter that.

Prove who you are:-

Use passport, driving licence, European driving licence, European national identity card.

Choose the ID you want to use

Take a photo of your ID.

Match your face to your photo ID

It then asks you to match your face to your ID by using the app.

Enter your details

Surname, forename, DOB and postcode.

It then checks your information against the NHS database – can take up to two hours.

You should then get an email saying "you passed our checks"

Go to the app and you should be able to use it from there
